What we collect and why

Visiting the website. You can read the whole public website without an account and without giving us any personal data. The site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the pages and protect the site from attacks. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without identifying you.

Contact form. When you send us a message we receive your name, email address, country, the option you choose under “I am a”, the topic and your message. We use these details only to reply to you and to handle your question.

Access requests and the applicant area. To request access to the applicant area you give us your full name, email address, your federation or organisation (if any) and your role. We use these details to decide on and manage your access. When you log in, Cloudflare emails you a one-time code and records the login. The applicant area uses one cookie that keeps you logged in.

EBL Youth Fund applications. Applications are made through the EBL’s application form. Your application is handled under the Regulations of the EBL Youth Fund.

Photos. News and event pages may show photos from bridge events, including photos of young players at championships. If you or your child appear in a photo and would like it removed, email us to ask for its removal.

Services we use

  • Cloudflare hosts the website, protects it and runs the login for the applicant area.
  • Tally runs our online forms (contact form and access requests). Your answers are stored by Tally and sent to us by email.
  • Google Workspace runs our email at eurobridgeyouth.org.
  • Google Forms hosts the EBL Youth Fund application form.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own data protection terms. Some of them may store data outside Switzerland and the European Economic Area, with safeguards required by data protection law.

How long we keep it

We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for.

Young people

Many of our visitors are young bridge players. If you are under 16, please ask a parent or guardian before you send us your details.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, to correct it or to have it deleted, and you can object to how we use it. Write to privacy@eurobridge.org. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner or the authority in your own country.
